"Working with improv can be wonderfully freeing, yet the outcome can seem overwhelming to the senses. Choosing constraints at the outset of an improv project can not only lower the decision-making burden that can seem overwhelming, it can also ensure your composition finishes with dramatic flair. In this class, you will explore several different variations of improv triangles, and experiment with variables that will alter the look of each variation. You will then incorporate these blocks into a large wedge layout to make a 24” square wall hanging. No prior improv experience required."

Cassandra says: "I have been sewing for as long as I can remember. I love looking for inspiration in my surroundings, and my life as a theatrical scenic and costume designer heavily influences my quilt designs." Her workshop is a geometric, paper-pieced quilt.
She explains: "Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP) is one of the best ways to ensure perfect points, create complex piecing designs, and execute detailed pictorial designs. This pattern is written to have minimal fabric waste and is a good choice for beginning and intermediate quilters. During class we will also discuss using value and color to create a dimensional effect. A PDF version of the pattern is included with the workshop."
