Instructor: Kathleen Riggins
Title: How Eye Roll - Wool Felt Embroidery
Location: Virtual Class on Zoom
Time: 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Kathleen has been quilting and sewing since before she can remember - her mom would put the foot control of her sewing machine up on a box so that Kathleen's short little feet could reach it. She has distinct memories of being very excited when on Christmas morning she exclaimed " Mom! You have the same sewing machine as Santa!" As Santa had given her a doll's bib with the same decorative stitches as were on her mom's machine.
Kathleen grew up in the quilting industry, as her parents opened Quilting From The Heart when she was 11. After university and a few years in the outside world including a year in England) Kathleen and her husband Rocky joined the family business in 2012. She began longarm quilting in 2013 mainly as a way to sell mid-arm quilting machines at work.
Soon she discovered that she really really loved longarm quilting, and she must have a longarm of her very own. Her longarm now resides in her living room, the only room in her house it would fit in. Kathleen now travels around the world teaching machine quilting.
When Kathleen isn't quilting (which isn't very often) she can usually be found snowboarding, reading, or dreaming of what to quilt next. Visit her online at kathleenquilts.com

Title: Raw-Edge Fabric Collage Reptiles/Frogs
"This class is great for beginners as an introduction to raw edge fabric collage. Learn to make a small art quilt using my easy raw edge fabric collage technique, fussy cutting and free motion quilting. This free form technique requires no fusible and is great for using up small scraps of fabric. I have a variety of patterns of reptiles, chameleons, lizards and frogs that you can choose from. Bring plenty of colorful fabrics, you mostly require small pieces, bearing in mind the design you think you will choose. The background and border can have as much detail as you wish. No machine sewing required."
Bio: " Jane Haworth is an award winning professional quilter specializing in making nature inspired raw edge fabric collage quilts using her own hand dyed fabrics and commercial fabrics. Jane lectures and teaches classes at quilt guilds, quilt shops and quilt shows and festivals, encouraging students to go out of their comfort zone and 'just create'."
