Quilting Bees

All members are welcome to attend any board meeting. The board meets monthly virtually on the first Wednesday of the month. The September board meeting is held on the forth Wednesday of the month.

Annual New Members Tea

The New Members Tea is held annually to welcome new members and all members are invited. The New Member Tea is a great opportunity to get to know other quilters and to learn about your guild in a smaller setting.

Community Outreach

Donation Quilts - Members make and donate finished twin size quilts to LifeMoves; small baby quilts to San Mateo Health Foundaton's Bundle of Joy program and Loved Twice, a non-profit charity for the greater Bay Area; and small fidget quilts to Sutter Health Hospice of San Mateo for occupational therapy. These are collected at the "Charity Table" at our monthly meetings.

Opportunity Quilt

A PQ outreach/educational and fund-raising activity, each year members create a special quilt that is displayed at various venues to promote our purpose, then raffled off in June.

San Mateo County Fair

Members participate in the fair by showing their quilts, interacting with attendees, showing and selling raffle tickets to the annual Opportunity Quilt made by PQG members.

Twice a year we hold a weekend long "no frills" quilting retreat, with open sewing, food and fun. We may also have a more structured retreat.

Quilt Show

Our members display their quilts, sharing their very best with other members and the community. Typically, the Quilt Show takes place every other year.

Biannual Quilt Challenge

Members purchase a kit (usually $5) and create a project from specified fabrics. Finished quilts are displayed at the April and September meetings.  Participation proceeds are used to award prizes for the best submissions.

Raffle Baskets

Look for opportunities to obtain more wonderful books, patterns and fabric at our meetings. Periodically we have auctions and sales that are announced in advance.
