Alice Love Event

Alice’s Love Event
Alice Lam was a member of the Wanna Bees. When she passed away, her husband and son donated money to the guild in her name and asked the WannaBees to use the money to honor her. Alice loved cooking, helping others, and entertaining friends and family.
Our celebration this year will be a charity sew-in after the March 15, 2023 PQ meeting at the Garden Center until 7:00pm. Lunch and dinner will be served. Prizes will be given out during the celebration. Bring your sewing machine and sewing supplies. You may work on your own charity quilt or use a kit that will be provided by Julie Curry and Judy Miyake. Alice’s Love quilt labels are available.
We hope you come for all or part of the day. We ask that you sign up so we know how many people are coming and how much food to order. Contact Margaret Conti to sign up. See the PQ roster for her contact information.
The price of admission is 2 completed baby quilts or one completed twin top. These will be due by Wednesday, February 15, 2023 (PQ meeting). Turn them in on the charity table at any PQ meeting. Be sure to tell Margaret when you turn in the quilt(s) so she can note that you have ‘paid’.
If you signed up for the previous Alice’s Love event that was cancelled in 2020 and have made your donation quilt you do not need to make another quilt. However, we encourage you to make another donation as there continues to be a need for quilts. Margaret has the list of who signed up for 2020 and who submitted quilts.
The quilts are going to PQ’s existing charities – San Mateo County Health Foundation (baby quilts) and Life Moves (shelter quilts).
Contact Margaret if you have any questions.
