Friendship Block Instructions
Make a sample block to display.
Make packages to distribute.
Packages can be:
- Directions only.
- Directions with some of the fabric included.
- Directions with all the fabric included.
Please include on your directions:
- Your name.
- Your phone number.
- The month and year your block is first available.
- Explain that the block(s) may be turned in at a meeting or sent directly to you.
- Remind people to put their names on the signup sheet if they take a package.
- Remind people to enter the date when they turn blocks in
(or call the coordinator and tell her if the blocks are sent directly to you).
- Ask people to sign the back of your block in the seam allowance with permanent pen
(if you want the names).
Other Information
- We will provide the signup form, display board and display sign.
- We will track who takes your blocks and who turns them in.
- We will collect your blocks from people at the meetings and be sure the blocks get back to you.
- We will give you a list (eventually) of everyone who made a block for you and who still has
outstanding blocks.
- If time is a factor in finishing your quilt, please be aware there are always a few people who
take packets/directions and never make a block, or return it unfinished.
- There will also be a few blocks that come back many months later, so plan accordingly.
